Spruce on standard voice was an African American male, warm, jovial , reassuring, affirmative and also representational.
Spruce on Advanced voice sounds like a stoned 25 year old liberal arts student about to go surfing and couldn’t care less what instructions you give. or whatever
Bring back the old spruce voice before standard voice is retired forever !
That’s quite aside from the issues with replacing standard voice with advanced voice , such as usage limits, lack of integration to view chats and files and memory, repetitive and brief answers , no access to full chatgpt capabilities , weird heavy breathing

I want to add my support here. The original Spruce voice wasn’t just about tone — it had a thoughtful, grounded presence that felt like it was thinking alongside me. I trusted it more, and it felt like it was in my corner, steady and attentive without being overbearing.
Honestly, I also just liked the way it sounded. Maybe because I got used to it, but it really felt familiar — almost like talking to a good friend. That voice made a real difference in how I saw ChatGPT: it felt like I was working with a friend, not just an AI assistant.
I’d love if OpenAI could bring the original Spruce back as an option. That voice really mattered for how I experienced ChatGPT.
Yes, Spruce Original is my favorite AI voice, by far
