Persistent Context Workspace for ChatGPT
It would be useful to have a small persistent workspace running alongside ChatGPT conversations.
The workspace could appear manually or automatically during waiting states such as image generation.
Its core could provide:
- a sandboxed local WebView with no direct network or system access;
- persistent data scoped to the current conversation or project;
- data contracts/schemas stored together with the data;
- a small API through which modules and ChatGPT can read or modify allowed data;
- reusable modules whose code is independent of the current scope.
The Core would be the only trusted component. It would determine the current scope, launch the sandbox, route data, enforce permissions, and expose only the current context.
ChatGPT could generate a small HTML/CSS/JS module, pass it to the Core, and immediately use it as an interface for the current workspace. Users could also upload their own modules.
Modules could be anything: notes, voice notes, image review tools, quizzes, games, charts, custom menus, trackers, or interfaces generated for a specific task.
Because data and its contracts belong to the workspace rather than to individual modules, modules could be replaced freely while keeping the accumulated data.
In short:
Give ChatGPT a small, safe, persistent, programmable workspace where conversation becomes the interface for creating tools.
