Hello OpenAI Team,
As a daily user relying heavily on OpenAI’s capabilities for complex, iterative, and detailed workflows, I’ve encountered repeated frustrations with session instability, arbitrary memory retention, and forced resets. These limitations significantly disrupt creative and technical progress, resulting in lost productivity and diminished trust in the AI’s reliability.
Key Pain Points:
• Frequent loss of session context, forcing repeated re-explanation of technical details.
• Inefficient and arbitrary memory recall, especially for structured technical information (schemas, algorithms, and detailed specifications).
• High friction in iterative workflows due to mandatory session resets and lack of easy export/import mechanisms.
• Lack of control over memory usage, session states, and associated costs.
Proposed Feature Set:
• Persistent Global Context: Allow users to maintain structured, detailed session memory consistently across interactions.
• Flexible Session States: Provide tiered session states (Live, Frozen, Archived) with corresponding flexible pricing models:
• Live Session: Fully interactive (premium hourly rate).
• Frozen Session: Saved in storage; reloadable quickly (low monthly fee).
• Archived Session: Long-term storage; reloadable within hours (minimal monthly cost).
• Structured and Adaptive Memory Management: Prioritize structured , organized, and compressed recall of technical and detailed information, with user options to “pin” or prioritize crucial details.
• Dynamic Resource Allocation: Allow users to adjust hardware resources (CPU, GPU, memory) with clear, transparent cost implications.
• Easy Export & Import: Enable session data export/import as compressed archives.
• Opt-In Training Data Sharing: Voluntary sharing of anonymized session data in exchange for usage discounts, enhancing AI training and affordability.
Implementing these features would greatly enhance usability, significantly improve user workflows, and introduce new monetization opportunities for OpenAI. Users like myself are eager to invest in solutions that solve these fundamental issues.
Thank you for considering this proposal—I’m happy to provide further insights or assist with testing.
