Pages in Spaces for normal ChatGPT chats

Is Page creation/editing intentionally limited to ChatGPT Work/Space contexts, or should regular Chat conversations also receive Page write capabilities?

In my current setup, a native Page can be attached to a regular Chat conversation and is recognized as a Page, but the conversation only receives source/read-style access and no Page mutation capability. In Work, however, Pages can be selected as a tool. Is this expected behavior, a rollout limitation, or a bug?

Welcome to the community @FynnDE,

I tested this on the web, in regular Chat, it recognized my Page link but said it couldn’t access the contents or edit the Page, but editing worked in Work. As you pointed out.

The Pages docs describe editing with ChatGPT, but I couldn’t find a clear explanation of whether that includes ordinary Chat. In my personal opinion that should be mentioned clearly in the docs.

There’s also been an incident affecting Space Pages, including problems using Page tools. It’s currently marked as monitoring. I’m not sure whether it’s connected to this behaviour, but it could be relevant.

Thanks for checking @LarisaHaster

When opening a page and using the chat inside the page interface the settings for the chat are much closer to what you see for Work or Codex so I guess that could be a hint too.
