I just received an email from OpenAI saying:
“We have already reviewed your appeal and the original decision still stands.”
Okay… so what original decision?
The email gives me absolutely no context. No case number, no appeal reference, no date, no content reference, no explanation, nothing that tells me what this is even about.
I currently have multiple completely different issues open with Support, so I genuinely cannot tell whether this refers to a moderation appeal, a security-related issue, or something else entirely.
How am I supposed to understand or respond to an appeal outcome when the email doesn’t even identify the appeal or the decision being upheld?
This kind of communication is incredibly frustrating. I’ve already spent days trying to explain different issues clearly, provide details, screenshots, timestamps, and answer follow-up questions. Then I get an automated-sounding response that basically says “our decision stands” without even telling me what decision they mean.
At this point, the problem isn’t even just whether I agree with the decision. I literally don’t know what decision I’m being told to accept.
Has anyone else received this exact “original decision stands” email with no context at all? If so, did you ever find out what it was actually referring to?
