Option to Delete All Chats at Once

Dear OpenAI Team,

I’d like to propose a feature that could enhance the user experience with ChatGPT: an option to delete all chats in the sidebar simultaneously.

Currently, chats must be deleted individually, which can be tedious for users with many saved conversations. Adding a “Delete All” button or a multi-select function would save time and improve workflow, particularly for those who frequently clear their chat history.

To ensure usability and prevent accidental deletions, a confirmation prompt could be included as a safeguard.

Welcome to the forum!

There currently is an option to delete all chats. It can be found in the ChatGPT settings.

ChatGPT settings are accessible by

  1. Open sidebar
  2. Click on user icon in lower left. (Usually a circle with a letter in it.)
  3. Select General tab

what does it delete?
EVERYTHING?
or Archives chats? or Not Archived chats?
or Simply Everything?
