Is it just me, or does anyone else feel blindsided by OpenAI’s consistent removal of features? First, it was web browsing, and now the ‘edit message’ feature. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to understand the motives behind these decisions. Are we inching towards a future where the ONLY difference between Plus and regular users is the payment?
If the objective is to streamline or improve the user experience, this isn’t the way to do it. It’s vital that OpenAI communicates its intent transparently, so we, the community, know where we stand.
I’m not 100% sure, but it looks to me like old archived threads in which you edited the first message have been split into separate threads in the history, which seems way more consistent with them intentionally removing this feature rather than it being a bug. But if it’s intentional it’s bizarre, since editing is such a useful mechanism for refining questions, AND because organizing related queries into a single tree made the archive more easily navigable.
