Hi OpenAI team,
I’d like to submit a product/community proposal for consideration by the appropriate OpenAI team.
Would OpenAI consider creating a retroactive OpenAI Pioneer Program for verified early users?
I don’t mean a generic beta badge or free subscription. I think the most meaningful version would recognize something that can never be purchased later: verified historical participation in OpenAI’s earliest years.
My proposed core benefits would be:
• A permanent Pioneer Passport / numbered Pioneer ID and cohort
• An optional official verified Pioneer profile or handle
• Priority reservation rights for future agent names, creator identities, or other OpenAI namespaces
• One Founding Agent identity / early historical Agent ID
• An opt-in public Pioneer Registry
• A private Pioneer Club / Assembly, potentially including structured consultations with OpenAI
• A portable verified Pioneer credential that could be displayed on professional profiles, websites, GitHub, LinkedIn, or other platforms
The central idea is simple:
You can buy future premium products, but you cannot buy having believed in and participated in OpenAI early.
If OpenAI’s ecosystem becomes much larger over the coming decades, preserving this first generation of users now could become a meaningful part of OpenAI’s history.
I would especially encourage making eligibility retroactive and determined from OpenAI’s own historical account records, rather than through applications, purchases, or later participation.
I also think the most valuable privileges should be permanent and identity-based rather than temporary discounts — for example, a verified Pioneer number, an official OpenAI identity, priority rights when future agent or identity namespaces are created, and membership in an enduring Pioneer community.
Could you please forward this proposal to the appropriate OpenAI product or community team for consideration?
Separately, I would also appreciate confirmation of the creation date of my earliest OpenAI account. I believe I may have used OpenAI considerably earlier under another email address and can provide the possible addresses if needed.
Thank you for considering the idea.
