the open ai is very unfair and unpractical - OPEN AI - the 5h limit is not fair — it’s very unbearably unfair – you will lose the customer base
Welcome to the forum!
Having been around ChatGPT since its early days and somehow still along for the ride, I’ve learned that adaptability is not optional—it’s practically a survival skill.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to rethink old habits, abandon workflows that once worked perfectly, and learn new ones as the technology changed.
With AI, the ground is always moving. You either keep adapting, or eventually the technology moves on without you.
Ridiculous is an understatement, “hi” to a previous chat i had with chatgpt used 10% of my 5hr usage limit. just to update a document with few words (10 words) cost another 13%. this is ridiculous. I came from Claude, maybe time to return or find a currently cheaper one.
The best solution to satisfy both worlds would be to just give us a toggle of whether someone wants 5hr window or not but keep it on by default to safeguard new users
I’m a plus user outside codex it’s perfectly fine for what you pay you get a lot of value
Let’s be honest 20 quid is like 1 hour of average pay and gives you so much value like if you go to competition you don’t get anything similar
Now if you code and you make money of it I mean get 5x and you’ll be fine if you know what you doing sol med will be quite a bit better and you get to do more work
But if 100 quid doesn’t justify the cost then most likely you don’t benefit as much from the product to justify the cost
ohhh yeah hello developers — that policy and feature change, won’t bother the obvious ones but it will effect the rare ones but open ai will lose its customer base for sure
