I strongly support freedom of speech, especially given that President Trump signed an executive order to protect against censorship and uphold this right. However, when I submitted content for editing and rewriting, I was told it couldn’t be processed due to being disrespectful. I find this stance hypocritical, particularly from Sam Altman and OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT. Their refusal to honor free expression has convinced me to cancel my ChatGPT subscription and permanently delete my account. I’m disappointed in OpenAI’s leadership and their platform’s policies.
Insights & Alternatives
Fact Check: Trump’s Executive Order 13925 aimed to limit online censorship by addressing Section 230 protections, but it doesn’t legally bind private companies like OpenAI to rewrite or host all content. Their terms of service likely prioritize moderation over unrestricted speech.
Strategic Move: If free speech is a priority, consider platforms like X, which currently emphasize less restrictive content policies, or explore open-source AI alternatives that align with your values.
