Often I notice that alot of my old prompts on chatgpt 4 legacy were really good. I did alot of exploring with what GPT could do back then.
I am proposing an established function that ensures old posts or sessions with older or outdated versions of ChatGPT can be revisited or “imported” easily without copy pasting. This would be something that allows a new model to read the old conversation to utilize context and continue the job.
It should be a default feature and require no forethought by the end user, but if they wish to double check that an old post has been migrated to the newer version of GPT, they can ask it to confirm if Import to newest version “/versiontype” had bee performed.
This feature could also be turned off manually, or in setting, you can have it ask to prompt migration when you visit an old prompt.
So basically, a user gets informed that prompt compatability is now retro-active. They can choose if its automatic for all prompts, if they want it off by default, or if they want to be asked for each individual prompt that is older than X version should be migrated, when they reopen it if its after date of X versions release.
