I have the exact same problem…

same for me, it just stops coding and the code becomes useless. There is no continue generating button or something else, it just stops working

this is so stupid microsoft needs to spend billions upgrading the server hardware systems there is too many people using the o1 mini and o1 preview i want special 50 dollar a month with 3 times intelligence and 5 times longer code with no freezing mid generation bugs

I believe it is because you leave the chat, or stay in the beginning of the message while it generates. I faced this problem, but once I scroll side by side with the generation, it stop only when it finishes.

see reply no i leave it open and it still crashes it is all open ai fault not on my end its the new o1 its a bad model

oh I think he is right tho. I also kept the chat open and also let it automatically scroll while generating, but it always stopped. But when you manually scroll while generating, it really worked for me.

yeah thanks, manually scrolling while generating helps for me, everything else doesn’t.

update a few hours later: now it doesn’t work anymore
