O1 doesn't know about realtime API, but 4o does

I’m using o1 to help me code the realtime API (web sockets) using Delphi. Interestingly, it doesn’t know about the API (I need to feed it with documentation) … but 4o does know about it.

Aren’t both models trained with the same “end date” of training data?

Hi! Was 4o maybe performing web search under the hood (o1 is not able to use web search tools right now)?

According to OpenAI models page, both o1 and 4o variants have the same knowledge cutoff, October 2023.

oh I think you’re right! Not sure why I thought October 2024 (when realtime API was announced).
