My ChatGPT Plus (which I pay for) has suddenly stopped allowing me to upload images via the web interface. Why did this happen and why?
As a direct result, I am now seriously considering terminating my subscription. Are there any workarounds? e.g. Is there a Windows 11 application for ChatGPT that allows image uploads?
Until very recently I was finding the image upload aspect of ChatGPT to be exceedingly useful for things like identifying error messages and discussing other websites etc etc.
I also cannot upload anything on my paid account, I also cannot use the web search feature! I can login with a free account and web search is enabled but in my paid account, the web search feature says itās disabled!!! Why?
I literally came here searching for this!! Like what!? This is the whole reason I upgraded, I was in the middle of doing important work with multiple imagesā¦
Im here with the same problem. One minute I was able to upload my images and now any time I ask it a simple question it pops up a āreasoningā load where you can read its thought process before it answers you. Whatās going on? Why am I paying if I canāt use what I paid for?

ok yall, I troubleshot the issue. Make sure that your CHATGPT model did not get switched and that it is set on Chatgpt-4o setting. This should open the function back up to you. Hope this helps.
Iām having the same issue, it stopped searching things. And likes to respond with āSo whats on your mind today?ā after I prompt it with ANY question. This thing just became absolutely useless.
It is happening to me too! I just upgraded AND NOW I cannot upload anything on a paid account. What? Why? It says āAttachments disabled forā and the + button is light grey now and the it says itās disabled. Its does work on a new chat for one time. Then it stops working in the conversation anytime after. I want my $20 refunded. Can someone help? I logged out and back in, tried to switch to another model and then back to Chatpgt-4o setting. .and still doing itā¦
This is happening to me too since C5 came on the scene. I have only uploaded 3 pics in the last 3 days. I try once in awhile. Sometimes 1 pic goes through the I get the circle arrow and no movement. I have also gotten a message that I hit my ālimitā and it would reset at 3:46 am (which was an hour from when I was trying) but its been 3 days now since ..I do have the PRO account..I seen the āLIFETIMEā LIMIT they have in the facts and NO way have I come close to that. >>>that said WHAT the WORLD do I do if I work for the next 3 years and hit it then? CLOSE the account and lose my WORK? I am a dev and Graphics artist and I cant keep this up with such NON support from OPENAI. There is no reason, I have done all the normal fixes. Deleted the app, went on the browser, went incognito, reinstalled, updated when I could, kept trying, waited for the time limit changed modes multiple times..I pay $200 month ā¦for what?
Iāve been trying for two days to upload photos, and it keeps telling me to upload them (āusing the + and paperclip icon!ā) , instead of putting them in the chat (which Iāve done time and time again), and tells me to look for the āfile cardā under the image thumbnailā¦ Which Iām not sure Iāve ever seen. Iām at my witās end.
Is this problem along the same lines as you guys? The option isnāt grayed out for me, but itās apparently not WORKING when I use it.
Photo upload not working. ChatGPT says it can only see some placeholder content or nothing. Iāve tried copypasteing and uploading, on the mobile and desktop. Nothing. Anybody else with this problem? I have Plus account and using 5.2
