No dynamic chat updates without being prompted

I am experiencing issues with set expectations, in that planned chat updates which the chatbot has agreed to provide are never met.

I have been using chatgpt to out together some complex data and after posting my prompt/requirement, I will be informed that my request will take x amount of time and that there will be dynamic updates in the chat by the chatbot say every 30 minutes. But it never happens! I have asked the chatbot if it has the ability to provide dynamic updates without being prompted. I was told yes, but this ability never seems to work.

Anyone else know if this is actually possible and why it may not function?
