No access to new GPT-4 Turbo as a model in Assistant Builder Model Dropdown

I guess exactly as it sounds. Spent the whole day on OpenAI as I am sure we all did, but have Turbo access in chat, but not when I try to select it in the models dropdown while building an assistant. It’s past midnight, so wondering if I am missing something? Tnx! What a great day. :slight_smile:

basically this is not accurate for me, and yes I clicked ‘SHOW MORE MODELS’ in dropdown. No GPT 4

For those wondering, add more money to your account (you might’ve spent your credits). Then the Turbo models ‘unlock’ and appear. Terrible UX to not inform users that this is the reason.

Correct. I also don’t have access to GPT Builder, even though I’m a plus member and added more money into my account. I know they’re moving extremely fast, but this is a bit clumsy of a roll out to make all these new features, promise them to clients at a dev day, collect their money, and then not really deliver (or at least be very unclear about how to access them).

Came here to say the same thing. Been a playing ChatGPT Plus customer for many months. Logged in platform.openai.com for the first time to play with developer apis but gpt-4 models were not listed anywhere. As soon as I added credits all the gpt-4 (including turbo) appeared. I think this is fine but the fact that it’s not clearly written anywhere leaving you to hunt around in forums is a bit weird/disappointing.

If you add ten bucks it will unlock and appear.

Well, I set assistant on a gpt 4 1106 pre model, but when I ask him what model he is specifically, he tells me he is a gpt-3 model. Can someone tell me more?

Asking the models what version they are is not reliable, they do not know what they are. If you have set the model to GPT-4 then that is what you will be getting.

You can ask a simple question of “I have 5 apples today, yesterday I gave 3 away, how many do I have now?” GPT-4 will get the answer 5 correct, 3.5 will incorrectly say 2.

Add an instruction line “You are based on GPT-4 by OpenAI”.

Or simply don’t ask questions the AI model can’t answer.

okay thank you, I gave him the instruction to behave like a chat gpt now and he tells me his current model now, but thanks didnt know that
