Recently OpenAI rolled out Projects which allows users to organize documents and chats into one project. The projects don’t seem to actually access the material whatsoever or combine them to contribute to responses. At one point I asked it to recall one of the documents and it hallucinated the whole thing, demonstrating poor understanding of the content, rendering the project useless.
(edit): I have noticed significant improvements in projects. Context appears better across chats and documents. It was able to successfully assist me in writing and deploying code, which aggregated 9 different genetic datasets using Python. ChatGPT Projects was then able to keep up with the newly aggregated data and create functioning code using R for generating PCA analysis and heat maps of the dataset. This is a huge step forward, the projects feature was much needed.
