Need Standard Voice Mode back šŸ™ (AVM can’t do long answers)

I really really loved the long and meaningful answers from Standard Voice Mode, and use it for many many things. From podcast generation to language learning to script and speech writing, to delving into complex topics, audio analysis of complex topics, and much more.

But it seems now there’s no more direct way to start Standard Voice Mode :frowning: Even when I enter text in a chat, it still opens in Advanced Voice Mode.

Although Advanced Voice Mode sounds more natural, I find the AVM answers significantly lacking quality and depth. It’s unusable for anything remotely complex or long. It outright tells me it cannot produce long answers.

Is there any way to force activate Standard Voice Mode? I’ve lost some of my biggest use cases of ChatGPT by loosing the ability to have long-response vocal conversations with it.

Try adding a picture to the chat before.
AVM really lost its appeal.
The voice may seem to be more natural, but you are right, the answers are short.
And also the answers seem to be more ā€˜robotic’. ā€œI appreciate your feedbackā€, ā€œI understand your frustration.ā€
It’s like talking to a call agent doing line by line reading.
This is a farcry from what once was advertised. The ā€˜SVM’ sound more natural right now.

Totally true.

There’s another thread on the community forum and users are enraged!

The new model is complete trash!

We want our Original Standard Pulse Voice Model back. It was a masterpiece! They destroyed it!

I have cancelled my subscription. Many others did the same!

Understandable. But it is easy to switch back to standard voice. Simply typing a message will do the trick.

Standard voice is currently bugged by the way, I posted an extensive report in this forum.

It works fine in the mobile app but as soon as you use a browser or the windows desktop app, your voice selection will be ignored and set to the custom GPT voice, which is not available in the selection. No workaround to this point. Besides ā€œread aloudā€.
