Extremely Frustrated With Multiple ChatGPT Issues That Are Still Not Resolved

I am honestly extremely frustrated with the current state of my ChatGPT account.

I have been using ChatGPT heavily for studying and this account has a large amount of important study material, Projects, and conversation history. But after my Plus subscription ended on September 5, 2026, I have been dealing with one problem after another.

The most frustrating part is that I have ALREADY reported the two biggest issues to OpenAI Support, and I was told that the issues were understood and that the relevant team was working on them.

My existing cases are:

Case #14965665 — Usage Limit Issue

Case #15148049 — Think Button Not Working in Projects

These are already-open cases. I am not reporting these problems for the first time.

Support already acknowledged that they understood the problems and told me that I did not need to do anything further because the issues were being worked on.

And yet… the problems are STILL there.

At this point, I genuinely have to ask: how long am I supposed to keep waiting and reporting the same problems?

1. The usage-limit problem is still unresolved

The usage-limit problem under Case #14965665 has still not been properly fixed.

I understand that Free accounts have usage limits. That is NOT what I am complaining about.

The problem is the strange/inconsistent way the restrictions have been affecting my account, including situations involving normal text conversations.

I have already explained this to Support in detail.

I was told that the issue was understood and that the team was working on it.

So why am I still dealing with it?

If this is a known bug, tell users that.

If it is an account-specific problem, investigate it.

If it is still under investigation, give an actual status update.

But please do not make users repeatedly explain and troubleshoot the exact same problem after Support has already acknowledged it.

2. Think does not work inside Projects

My second existing case is Case #15148049.

The Think button does not work properly inside Projects.

This is especially annoying because I use Projects for long-term study work.

Again, I already reported this.

Again, Support acknowledged the issue.

Again, I was told that the issue was understood and being worked on.

And again, it is still not fixed.

3. The desktop app is not showing all of my recent chats

Now there is another problem.

In the ChatGPT desktop app, my Recent Chats are NOT all appearing.

Only some of my recent conversations are visible.

I have around 25–30 recent/important chats that I would expect to see, but they are not all appearing.

This is not just a cosmetic issue for me.

I have years/months of useful study conversations and material in this account, and I need to know that my conversations are actually still stored safely.

4. My older conversation history also appears incomplete

This problem worries me even more because when I previously had Plus, I had a very large amount of conversation history.

At one point I remember having roughly 350 conversations/chats, and even then I had already noticed that some older conversations were not appearing.

Now I am seeing missing conversations in the desktop app as well.

So what is happening to the history?

Are the conversations still stored but not being displayed?

Is there a synchronization problem?

An indexing problem?

A loading/UI problem?

Or something else?

I don’t want to find out later that important study conversations have actually disappeared.

5. The “More” button/menu on the web version does not work

There is also a UI problem on the web version.

Under the area containing options such as Web and other tools/features, there is a More option.

When I click it, it appears to try to open, but nothing actually opens.

The menu simply does not become accessible.

Another small issue by itself, perhaps.

But when it is added to all the other problems, it becomes extremely frustrating.

6. The web version and desktop app both have problems

I have problems on BOTH platforms.

The desktop app has the missing Recent Chats problem.

The web version has the broken More menu.

Projects have the Think problem.

And the account has the unresolved usage-limit problem.

At this point, it is difficult to believe that every issue is simply something on my end.

I am not sitting here with nothing else to do, repeatedly testing ChatGPT for fun.

I am a student.

I use ChatGPT to study.

Every time I have to reproduce a bug, collect screenshots, switch between the web version and desktop app, restart things, test different chats, or explain the same problem to Support again, that is time taken away from my actual studies.

What makes this especially frustrating

I have already done what a user is supposed to do.

I reported the problems.

I explained them.

I provided information.

I contacted Support.

Support acknowledged the problems.

I was told that the issues were understood and that the team was working on them.

So I should not have to keep starting from zero.

I should not have to open a new complaint every time another part of the product behaves strangely.

I should not have to spend hours troubleshooting the tool that I am using specifically to help me study.

I am not asking OpenAI to give me unlimited access or special treatment.

I am asking for the product to WORK PROPERLY according to the features available to my account, and for my existing conversations and Projects to remain accessible.

OpenAI, please actually look into this

I am posting this publicly because I have already spent enough time going through private Support channels.

I want to know whether other users are experiencing the same problems.

And I want these existing cases to actually reach the relevant people:

Case #14965665 — Usage Limit Issue

Case #15148049 — Think Button / Projects Issue

These cases have already been acknowledged by Support.

Please do not make users repeatedly submit the same information when the issue has already been recognized.

I really like using ChatGPT and have relied on it heavily for my studies, which is exactly why this situation is so frustrating.

I don’t expect every bug to disappear instantly.

But when multiple issues continue for a long time, existing Support cases are already open, Support has already said the issues are understood and being worked on, and users are still left dealing with the same problems, it becomes extremely difficult not to feel ignored.

Please fix the existing problems instead of making users keep reporting them.

same issue here still waiting for solution

I can reproduce the same issue on ChatGPT Go.

  • Thinking is available in a regular chat.

  • Moving that chat into a Project disables Thinking.

  • Removing it from the Project restores the toggle.

  • New chats created inside new Projects also have Thinking disabled by default.

Tested in Firefox on Windows. The behavior is reproducible.

Is this a known bug, and has OpenAI provided an update or expected fix date?
