# Missing Canvas and Projects Features in MacOS Desktop App

Hello OpenAI team and community,
I’m experiencing an issue with the ChatGPT desktop app. The new **Canvas** and **Projects** features are fully functional when I use ChatGPT in the **web browser** , but they are missing from the **desktop app** (macOS).
I’ve tried the following steps to troubleshoot:
• Confirmed the app is updated to the latest version.
• Fully uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
• Logged out and back in.
• Restarted my system (macOS is up-to-date).
The features are still not appearing in the desktop app.
Is this a known issue, or are these features being rolled out in phases for the desktop version? If anyone has insight or has faced a similar issue, I’d love to know if there’s a workaround or when these features will be fully supported on the app.

Hey, at the moment the macOS app doesn’t have this functionality but it is coming.

I notice that on MacOS when looking at the chats, the ones that are in projects don’t show at all. This should be fixed, even if you can’t see them within the projects folder.

I would like to know when it is expected to be launched? I want to fully use the mac OS version, but there are some functions that are only available on the web version. This is embarrassing.

On Canvas specifically - I now get it if I type /canvas in the chat. It seems like maybe currently of the tools search gets a button on the Mac app but not canvas or dall-e ? Projects is still another matter…

Thanks for the tip @fxzane! It allows me to use canvas when I type it in as you recommended. There’s not button yet for me but I’m just glad I have access to it now outside of my browser. Thanks 🙏🏽

Hi @fciampi, the “projects” feature and is available in the desktop app for me now. Try updating to the latest version if you are not already
