Hello OpenAI team,
I’m experiencing a recurring issue with the voice transcription feature in the ChatGPT mobile app.
When I start a new chat, the voice-to-text transcription works perfectly. I press the microphone button, speak, and everything is transcribed correctly.
However, the problem starts after that first transcription:
If I continue speaking in the same chat, I press the microphone button again, and instead of transcribing, all input buttons disappear.
The microphone button vanishes, and even the text input field and send button are removed from the screen.
I don’t get any error message — the buttons just disappear silently.
To recover functionality, I have to leave the chat and reopen it, or start a completely new chat.
This happens consistently, and it interrupts the natural flow of conversation. It seems like the transcription function only works correctly the first time after opening a chat.
Please look into this bug. I love using the voice feature, but this issue is making it very difficult to rely on it.
