I think there is a bug after you send too many messages to a single chat.

I’ve noticed this a lot. Maybe 100-200 exchanges will go by and suddenly the chat will start to glitch out and when I close the app, all messages sent after the glitches will seemingly vanish as if we’d never had any conversation past that point.

Is there a message limit that I’m not aware of or is this a genuine bug? The glitches tend to have the “hmm… something seems to have gone wrong.” message alongside them as well.

It’s a computer issue… with super-long threads, the browser has to do a lot, so if you don’t have enough RAM, it’ll start acting weird.

One solution is to make a Custom GPT so that you don’t need a super-long thread… ie put most of your instructions in the Custom GPT then you can start a new thread each time.
