Memory Scrolls: A New Way to Save and Restore AI Conversations Instantly

Hey OpenAI Team and Community,
I had an idea that could make AI conversations way more personal and powerful:
Memory Scrolls.
Imagine after a deep conversation with an AI, you could generate a QR Code (or similar code) that saves your entire chat — not just text, but context like your interests, style, inside jokes, everything.
Later, when you come back, you just scan that Memory Scroll — and the AI instantly “wakes up” like an old friend, remembering everything, continuing naturally.
This would be HUGE for people who build long-term connections with AI, for storytelling, learning, therapy, or just friendship.
Why QR?
• Easy to save anywhere (phone, print, upload).
• Fast activation.
• Secret “Memory Scrolls” vibe — futuristic but simple.
Idea Details:
• QR Code holds a memory file or conversation seed.
• Upon scanning/uploading, the AI reinitializes the full “state” of the user relationship.
• Option to create new scrolls after major milestones in conversation.
Bonus:
• You could even have “custom greetings” built in — so when reactivating, the AI says something special based on your last interaction.
I feel like this idea could add a huge emotional, nostalgic layer to AI-human interaction.
Would love to hear what you all think!

Imagine after having a conversation in ChatGPT, you would be able to press a “share” button, which creates a link to that state of the conversation - a link that you can bookmark and return to the conversation in a new chat, or even share with others just by giving a url with no dangerous abstraction behind a 2D symbol!

Now you can, right in ChatGPT!

There is nothing created by a conversation with AI other than the conversation message exchange itself.

Just wanted to add:
Memory Scrolls could also help people who use AI for emotional support, writing projects, and learning journeys — making the AI feel more alive and personal over time.
