Memory full notification - chatgpt

Hi OpenAI team and fellow users,

I’d like to share some feedback about the “memory full” notification in ChatGPT. It seems from my experience that ChatGPT can dynamically update its memory by replacing older entries with newer, more relevant details—essentially making sure that the most important information is always at hand. If this is the case, then the “memory full” pop-up feels like an unnecessary limitation.

The notification could cause confusion or concern for users who think it means ChatGPT can no longer remember new information. In reality, if ChatGPT can update or replace memory dynamically, we’re already working within a flexible, evolving memory system, and this pop-up message could be removed to make the experience smoother and more intuitive.

In summary, removing the “memory full” message would help reduce any artificial sense of limitation and create a more streamlined, user-friendly memory experience. I’d love to hear thoughts from other users on this, too!

Thanks for your time to read this.
