Does anyone know what the blue dot that appears next to some messages in the ChatGPT chat history might mean?
I came to ask the same question. It was next to one conversation that was a few days old and had been shared. But it was also next to a new conversation that wasn’t shared, although that may have been open on a different tab. Those might both be coincidental though.
So no answer? Because I saw the blue dot today as well, and I’m quite curious.
Me as well. Did anyone find anything?
Let’s compare what our conversations where the blue dot showed up have in common. Then we can figure it out.
I had the dot appearing on a conversation recently, and it honestly was a very unique and interesting chat. There was a mix of emotions and logic, and our conversation felt deeply engaging and productive. It was also a very long chat.
We were using the code interpreter, and the GPT created a handful of mini-tools in Python language quite a few times, and we talked about a range of unrelated topics while solving logic problems at the same time.
This isn’t something that works always, but in this case, it was possible to have a casual chat, while working on something at the same time - like with a real colleague.
Maybe that’s what causes the blue dot?
I asked it…
“The blue dots next to chat entries indicate that those conversations have unread messages or updates. This visual cue is meant to help you quickly identify which chats have new or pending responses.”
I was also making it generate and interpret python for both the conversations the blue dot appeared for me.
