I’d like to suggest a strategic subscription model that could benefit both users and the company in the long term:
- When a new model (e.g. GPT-B) is released, make the previous version (GPT-A) completely free.
- When GPT-C is released, both GPT-A and GPT-B become free, and GPT-C becomes the new paid model.
- Users who subscribed to GPT-B should receive a discount when upgrading to GPT-C.
This strategy would:
- Reward loyal and early users
- Make older models more accessible to the public
- Encourage more people to try newer versions without losing existing users
It creates a strong customer retention loop and could also expand the brand’s reach globally.
