I also can’t log in with Firefox and 2FA, with the same “Your authentication token is no longer valid” message. No problems signing in with Chrome.

Joining the count: also can’t log in with Firefox, same message. Chrome works fine.

I’m currently facing this same issue with Firefox on macOS. Everything works fine when I try to log in through Chrome, though.

Not fixing it: different account, one without using a Google email that might have been mistaken for authentication service.

Not fixing it: spoofing a user agent.

Same problem here, works in chrome but not firefox. Been happening ever since I first tried logging into platform.openai.com a few days ago (2023-09-25).

Same here: Chrome works just fine, with Firefox 118.0.1 I get Your authentication token is no longer valid.

Same here. I can login via Brave, but in Firefox login does not work, even with fresh empty Firefox profile

UPDATE: workaround did not work on 2nd attempt. @Locust2520 's solution below worked for me .

Having the same issue. Can’t log in using Firefox on macOS. Works in Safari.

+1. unable to login using firefox/edge from Mac. it looks like the authentication does not work at all.

Same - completely unable to login at all, and it’s the first time to login with this machine, ever.

Me n’th. Firefox 118.0.1 Linux 5.15.0-83-generic #92~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Mon Aug 21 14:00:49 UTC 2023
Login worked on this machine a little while ago, same addons, though a slightly earlier version of Firefox.

Same issue with Firefox on Ubuntu, cannot login. With Chromium on the same system it works.

Same exact issue here. Doesn’t work on firefox on linux, but works in chromium. Tried disabling enhanced tracking protection too, didn’t work either.
Also tried in a private browsing session, same issue there. So not related to cache or such.

Same Problem here. Can’t login with Firefox.

Tree weeks since @_j’s first report this still hasn’t gotten any response from openai. Are there employees here? Or should issues like this be raised some other way?

Using the Log In link at the top of https://openai.com/ worked for me.
I am using Firefox on Ubuntu.

I’ve had this problem for a while now (fails as described on Firefox, works on Chrome).

I’ve been trying to log on via platform.openai.com – based on this reply I just tried via openai.com instead, and this worked.

Had this problem as well, could be a coincidence but here’s what seemed to fix it for me:

Disabling enhanced tracking protection for both:
auth0.openai.com (note that if accessed directly, will send you to openai.com, you need to attempt login and get the prompt)
and
platform.openai.com

(Click address bar lock):

then clearing site data for both auth0.openai.com and platform.openai.com

(Click address bar shield):

then logging in again.

I’d embed/link images directly but website doesn’t allow me to.

I’d speculate that the reason going through openai.com works but not platform.openai.com is because of those built-in cross-domain tracking protections seeing the 2 subdomains as different domains when accessed separately, but not when accessed from openai.com.
