When using ChatGPT’s voice mode, I often need a second or two to complete my sentence or think of what to say next. ChatGPT should be trained to know when you’ve finished speaking. If you’ve ended a sentence or question and then paused, it should wait a moment (as it does) before responding. However, where someone has not yet completed their sentence or question, it should wait a little longer (possibly 3-5 seconds). This is my feature request & suggestion for ChatGPT.
There could also/alternatively be some custom settings for this, such as the ability to change the amount of time it allows you (for older people or slower speakers who need more time to think and complete their sentences) or simply a mode where you can replace the automatic response function with the requirement to press the button when done. Of course, it won’t need to know when you start speaking, so it would only need to be pressed when speech is complete.
Thanks for considering this very important feature request for ChatGPT. It will change things for the better for so many who would value this as an option.
