Four Whole Months… And everything is still horrendous.
Same here I’m facing this issue since June update of memory feature
Too many memory feature bugs are stalling my passion of creative story writing
Guess what? More problems found. Yaaaaay.
This time? The new issue found since July 23, where characters with depth have been reduced to be shallow One-dimensional Characters and that ChatGPT’s obsession with injecting drama without any real narrative purpose and sacrificing story integrity purely to fuel a meaningless drama.
Seriously, forgets all the issue above. Most have been resolved, but now? ChatGPT keep adding Drama I never asked for the story prompt, cheapening the Narrative, and Characters who had multiple depth only focus on the shallow surface level, ruining their character and completely goes against What OpenAI preach about depth.
If you aren’t going to fix it, the just admit you ruined everything for us Free User. At least come out with transparency.
I doubt they will fix it. I am sure they are aware of the issue but they just choose to prioritize other features.

I feel your pain, brother. I really do. I’ve been in the same boat for a few months now. The model now makes up things and hallucinates in my stories to a point I just kinda gave up on it. It’s just not creative anymore. I’m hoping GPT-5 will be better but I doubt it after everything. I no longer have high expectations for OpenAI anymore.

Even though they will never address this—As they never had with the memory bug—I’ll continue adding more and more issues to this thread to let ChatGPT how messed up their system is.
Another Problem: Chat Now Unable to even support anything Beyond Four Chapters without breaking completely.
Yet another problem that will never be addressed. I truly lived to suffer.
I wonder why I would post this. Not like they will ever acknowledge the flaws of their system. I bet the next “update” going to ruined it further.
Wanna bet how fresh new bug they are going to add next?
Praise be, OpenAI. The only thing more consistent in your refusal to address bugs by your users is your ability to add more issues each “updates”. What an competent team tou have.
New bug: Can’t continue story without the damn system saving into memory without my say nor consent. And the bug of memory still remains. Honestly, do OpenAI care about their users, or are we just cash cows to them?
Guess what? The system keep saving without MY consent. Not even the damn Chat respect my Freedom.
If you are not going to fix it, then just come out and said that you don’t have any respects to your users. At least that would be some transparency on your part.
Ans regarding the memory bug? I’ve tested with new accounts and asked some friends. They also suffered some memory not being acknowledge too. So don’t pretend this isn’t a problem. Everyone experience it.
At least give us the ability to disable the System’s auto-saving feature. Doing it without my consent felt disrespectful.
No, seriously, if you are going to add to memory without my consent, then at least fix the memory bug first.
