Hi, I’m facing issues with the Canvas and Internet search features on my ChatGPT Plus subscription. The Canvas feature doesn’t open at all, and when I try using the web search (in the browser version), it shows an error saying “no internet access” on both Windows and macOS. However, the web search works fine in the macOS app.
Welcome to the forum!
Can you be more specific. What prompt did you use? Please also provide a screen shot.
Chat is also unable to read files. Same problem as in numerous other threads.
Thanks for posting.
You made the same mistake many new to Canvas are making, which is to use the words open canvas
in the prompt. Yes, you are absolutely correct to think that would be the way; however, the Canvas announcement notes to use the words use canvas
.
You can also include “use canvas” in your prompt to open canvas and use it to work on an existing project.
As I use Canvas for coding with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS often, even as I write this, I have such a canvas open. Here is the first prompt I use:
Comprehend this JavaScript for further questions and tasks. Use canvas ```JavaScript ```
Then insert an HTML page with some JavaScript in it, and you should see the canvas appear.
As for the Internet search problem, I don’t use ChatGPT for replies that expect an Internet search, so I really can’t give useful help.
