Issues with DALL·E’s Vertical Composition and Pose Control

I’ve encountered persistent issues with DALL·E when generating vertically aligned, full-body figures in portrait format. Despite clear prompts emphasizing an upright stance and strict vertical composition, the model often tilts or shifts the subject into a horizontal or diagonal posture.

Key problems:

  1. Pose misalignment – Figures frequently appear in a wide stance or diagonal tilt, even when a strict vertical pose is requested.
  2. Dancing figures default to horizontal – Movement-related prompts cause a wider, spread-out composition rather than keeping the subject upright.
  3. Poor prioritization of figure vs. background – The model often overemphasizes scenic elements, reducing control over central character positioning.
  4. Inconsistent adherence to prompts – Even explicit instructions like “strictly aligned with portrait format” or “standing fully upright” do not guarantee proper vertical placement.

DALL·E could greatly benefit from better pose control, improved vertical composition adherence, and a more precise interpretation of movement within confined formats. Has anyone found a reliable workaround?
