Hello OpenAI Team,
First, I’d like to express my appreciation for the incredible work you’re doing. I’ve especially enjoyed seeing the Advanced Voice Mode feature roll out across multiple chats, it’s a fantastic addition to the experience. Thank you, Sam, and the whole OpenAI team for your hard work!
However, I’ve encountered an issue since yesterday afternoon (Central European Time), and it seems to persist regardless of the context or content of the chat. Here’s the problem:
• Issue Description:
When using Advanced Voice Mode, regardless of the topic or question, whether it’s writing creatively, discussing cybersecurity, AI, marketing, or any other general content, the voice continuously responds with, “My guidelines won’t let me talk about that.”
This behavior happens even when the content is non-critical and doesn’t violate any guidelines.
• Impact:
1. The Advanced Voice Mode becomes unusable as it’s unable to provide meaningful responses.
2. I am unable to revert to the Simple Voice Mode as an alternative, which makes it frustrating and disrupts workflow.
3. This issue has been ongoing since yesterday, mid-afternoon, and affects all active chats.
• Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable Advanced Voice Mode in any active chat.
2. Ask a standard question or request, such as generating creative writing, discussing cybersecurity topics, or marketing strategies.
3. Observe that the response defaults to “My guidelines won’t let me talk about that.”
• Expected Behavior:
The Advanced Voice Mode should continue functioning as intended, responding to valid queries based on its capabilities and training.
I’m curious if others are also experiencing this issue, or if it has been highlighted already. I understand it’s the weekend, but I wanted to ensure this bug is brought to your attention.
Thank you again for your hard work, and I look forward to the Advanced Voice Mode being fully functional across all chats. Have a great weekend!
Best regards,
Jorge Jarrin Zak
