Is there a chance to extend the grant funds for startups?

I received grant funds amounting to $2,500 from the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub program. During this time, I explored the capabilities of ChatGPT with various models and features, while also trying to minimize my expenses. As a result, I have nearly completed my application—an analyzer for unstructured product lists that normalizes these lists into a structured format. My goal is to create a platform that helps retail sellers simplify their participation in trade, with a system that assists in managing their product lists.

As of writing this letter, I have spent less than $900, leaving $1,600 remaining in my balance. Unfortunately, I currently have no other investors besides myself, so having access to the remaining grant funds is critical for the development of my business.

Therefore, I would like to inquire if there is a possibility to extend the period for using these grant funds, as the current expiration date is set for September 1, 2024. Physically, I won’t be able to utilize these funds by that date (one reason being that I always strive to optimize expenses).

Hi there!

You should reach out directly to OpenAI support via the developer platform to inquire about this. OpenAI does not systemically review the posts here on the platform.

The official statement is that do not extend grants (https://help.openai.com/en/articles/9047769-can-you-extend-my-credits) but perhaps they are making exceptions to this.

Good luck!

Nine days after my request, no one has responded to me yet :face_holding_back_tears:

Did you reach out to OpenAI or Microsoft?

From what I know, they do not extend the dates, so try to use as much as you can before it runs out.

Good luck!

I have only reached out to OpenAI support.

Unfortunately, six months turned out to be too short to spend the allocated funds for implementing my idea. At this point, I’ve only spent half of it because I was developing my application with the intention of using batching to minimize expenses.

In any case, I am immensely happy and grateful to have been granted this opportunity. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to get started
