Is openAI the worst customer support experience you’ve ever had? For me personally, I cannot get in contact with a single agent. Have been runnning into an issue with o-1 not outputting anything and just thinking and hence wasting the available o-1 prompts I have, and by extension wasting money. Can I get a hold of someone in customer support? The answer is no, and it’s just honestly pathetic the lack of effort the team puts into ensuring subscriptions are effected. Can anybody help me for getting a refund for the prompts, or reveiving more 0-1 prompts? I have a conversation showing it’s shortcomings and wasting around 10 -15 prompts. Anybody have any advice for what to do ?

- No phone support, no live chat with a human, no escalation process. Just a bot and empty promises.
- Refund requests, billing issues, and technical failures are often ignored or take weeks to resolve.
- Once you’re locked out, your data is effectively held hostage with no way to access it.
- OpenAI’s Stripe payment system is a mess, and if their system fails, there’s no fallback for users who already paid.
Your situation—being charged for broken prompts—is just another example of how OpenAI takes users’ money while refusing to staff a competent support team to actually assist paying customers. It’s absurd that a company this big refuses to invest in even basic customer service.
I’m now actively warning others about this issue because once something goes wrong, you’re on your own. OpenAI is treating its users as disposable while collecting their payments.
