Instant PRO x20 revocation on a single false "Usage Policy Violation & Deactivation Warning" message

Hello everyone and OpenAI Team.

I got hit with 0% weekly limits and then i noticed my plan got downgraded from Pro x20 to Plus i previously had. Then i looked up my email and found the “Cyber Abuse” warning. What kind of warning is that when you revoke the subscription instantly? You could’ve just deactivate an account straight up at this point. The interesting part is that this is the first and only letter i’ve ever received, i didn’t have multiple of them and they didn’t go to spam folder unlike others. I did RE-related work for like a month, probably a bit more and didn’t have any issue. Anyway i’ve sent an appeal already, not sure how much time would it take, not very optimistic about all that. Maybe i got flagged because of certain banned wordlist, IDK. I wonder if anyone had similar issue recently.

My case id is C-WbLpIABjYL7H in case it helps

And here it goes. Thanks OpenAI. VPN i use might be the cause of that, be careful. Still hoping my remaining ~2 weeks of 200$ subscription would be restored. I’ll make updates here in case something changes

Cyber abuse generally refers to attempting to make it perform hacking activities or using prompts to bypass its ethical restrictions. It has little to do with the VPN.

I think you should continue to contact customer service to appeal, since you yourself don’t even understand the reason right now.

I remembered some additional context so yeah, i’ll try that, thanks. I found out that i’m able to make new appeal separate from email link

Good news, got this email 1 hour ago. However i’m still on Plus subscription, gonna push further

Hi @jeybe

Glad to hear your account has been restored.

I checked the subscription history, and it looks like the Pro purchase was refunded today. Because of that, Pro access would no longer remain active, and the account would fall back to the active Plus subscription instead.

If you still believe there is an issue with the remaining Pro time, please continue through your support ticket so the team can review the subscription details further.
