Instant Model Enforcement is missing with GPT 5.2

Creating the topic under the GPT-5 tag instead so maybe the bot doesn’t remove it.

As of today, I appear to be missing the option to select the “Instant” model on the ChatGPT web interface. For Model 5.2, I can only select “Auto” or “Thinking”, but I do not want the model to automatically guess and use the thinking mode when I do not request it. Is there any option to get it back? Is the removal just a bug?

It appears you’re seeing a different interface than other users. I’m still able to select the instant model.

My assumption is that your account is part of a silent feature rollout or an A/B test.

In my experience thinking-low is much better and almost as fast. Maybe that helps!
