Tried 2 minutes back and came here again to express my experience. Same trouble. No resolution so far.

Has anybody renewed their subscription? Card is being declined though I have used the same card for upgrading to plus subscription.

Has anybody tried making the payment with American express credit card? Did it work?

This worked about a month and a half ago. But tried it a couple times right now and it didn’t work. What happened??

If you have an iPhone, download the official chatgpt app from the appstore , then add fund to apple wallet, you can use the normal net banking or upi. Then just pay up for ChatGPT plus, cheers!

Thank you for this information, I also faced similar problem with cards, finally I could install to my phone and from there via UPI I could renew subscription.

  1. If you have an existing ChatGPT ID:

    • Delete the cookies from your browser.
    • Click enter address field manually and fill the pin code in the address box.
    • Sometimes, when you enter the pin code, the city and state fields are automatically
filled, and you can also see the GST amount in dollars along with the price.
    • Proceed to make the payment using your VISA or Mastercard (please note that Rupay
      cards may not work).
    • Ensure that international transactions are activated on your card.
-If you are unable to see the GST amount, the payment will not go through.
  2. If you do not have an existing ChatGPT ID:

    • Try to create an ID by selecting “continue with Google/Microsoft” option.
    • Click enter address field manually and fill the pin code in the address box.
    • Some times the city and state get automatically filled once you put the pin code and
you will be able to see the GST amount in dollars along with the price…
    • Proceed to make the payment using your VISA or Mastercard (please note that Rupay
      cards may not work).
    • Ensure that international transactions are activated on your card.
-If you are unable to see the GST amount, the payment will not go through.

None of that works/helps. OPENAI doesn’t care about it’s Indian customers!

which UPI did u use? gpay? which phone was it installed

I used Google Chrome on a PC to make a payment using a credit card.

Tried multiple cards, multiple devices. Nothing seems to work for the upgrade. Does anyone know how to get it fixed ? Also is there any support team for the chatgpt to help resolve this.

The only way i got it to work was by paying through the ios app (with upi mandate)

I don’t understand:

There may have been a Javascript error with the tax calculations, which should have shown an 18% IGST of approximately $3 on the screen. If this is not displayed, you can try entering it manually and then entering your pin code first.

I only get to see a small SBI page window popup to enter OTP. Then I get the error that my card has been declined.

Yup! It’s funny because Sam Altman visited New Delhi, India during its tour. IDK why they don’t support Indian bank account and do whatever RBI asked them to with that idiotic e-mandate crap!!! Modi messed it all up man!

I’ve got this RuPay Debit card from an Indian bank, and I’ve been trying to set up payments for getting access to the OPEN AI API. But every time I give it a shot, I get this message saying my card isn’t supported. I’ve made sure that international transactions are good to go for my card, so I’m a bit puzzled.

By the way, I’m a bit fuzzy on the whole “zip code” thing. Is it the same deal as our usual 6-digit PIN code here in India?
