Dear OpenAI Team,
I have a suggestion regarding Row Echelon Form (REF) and Reduced Row Echelon Form (RREF) computations.
Currently, when users request REF, ChatGPT sometimes automatically provides RREF, skipping intermediate row operations. This creates confusion for students learning step-by-step row reduction.
Suggested Improvement:
- Differentiate REF and RREF properly – Ensure that ChatGPT provides only REF when asked, without over-reducing.
- Show step-by-step row operations – Explain each transformation clearly.
- Improve math formatting – Better LaTeX-style representation for readability.
This small enhancement would make ChatGPT much more effective for students and educators in linear algebra.
Thank you for considering this improvement!
