I use ChatGPT on mobile for complex writing, not just quick questions.
And the biggest bottleneck isn’t the AI. It’s the keyboard.
So I mocked up a small idea that could massively improve the writing experience:
Add a “Power Row” above the keyboard.
Not an emoji panel.
Not a second keyboard to swipe through.
Just one slim row of formatting tools, placed right above the numbers row.
It could offer keys like:

I — italic

B — bold
-
‘ — apostrophe for people who use contractions constantly
-
1. — numbered list
-
H1 — heading
-
And so on.
Not a futuristic concept, just the kind of “why doesn’t this exist already?” feature.
Fast, intuitive, and doesn’t change the rest of the UI.
It could also allow the users to customize the keys they want up there.
It’s a small feature that would massively improve writing on mobile, and it’s technically simple: just a custom keyboard overlay inside the app.
Would love to see this considered for future updates.
