Feature Request: Improve Read Aloud on Windows

I would like to suggest two improvements to the Read Aloud function in the ChatGPT Windows app:

  1. Pause/Resume
    Please add a true pause function so Read Aloud can resume from the same position instead of restarting from the beginning. This is already possible on mobile and would improve feature parity.

  2. Synchronized text highlighting
    Please add an optional feature that highlights the word, phrase, or sentence currently being read aloud. This would make it much easier to follow along visually and see exactly where the narration is in longer responses.

Together, these two changes would make Read Aloud significantly more practical and easier to use on Windows.

Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll share both requests for Windows Read Aloud: pausing and resuming at the same spot, and highlighting the text as it’s spoken. We don’t have a timeline to share, but appreciate the feedback.
