It looks like nobody cares about fixing this bug!
Is this happening to everyone?
I’m thinking of creating a new account and then deleting the old one completely!
same bug for me
…. no idea how to solve it . comes on mobile app, pwa, website .. whatever ~ trash is not trashing ![]()
What way of communication did you process to get a refund?
I think I’m going to try to claim this too. I’m really disappointed in how everything is turning out.
If you are are eligible for a refund, there will be a refund button that appears to you after you try to cancel your subscription. It was very convenient and straightforward.
They didn’t make me WAIT FOR A RESPONSE. hint hint xD
Hi,
This is a developer community: a space for developers building apps with OpenAI APIs and tools to have technical discussions with other developers. The ChatGPT team doesn’t monitor this forum.
For ChatGPT discussion, join the official Discord: OpenAI. For support, you can visit https://help.openai.com/en/articles/6614161-how-can-i-contact-support.
Thanks!
Thank you, friend! It’s WORKs! Only that way!
So midjourney is better? If the problem isn’t solved soon I will consider to change. The reason I use Sora is that works along with chatgpt but I’ll do without it if Sora doesn’t work.
I know that we aren’t supposed to post here anymore about UI bugs related to Sora, but it seems that they finally fixed the trash bug. It’s about time!
Same issue here, prompts are continuously loading and never generating anything.
I can’t even use Martin-t’s workaround; I only have one option for the bugged images being to "Trash” them.
This immediately results in the “Failed to trash image set” notification.
Part of me is glad to have found this chat which tells me that i’m not the only one having this problem… and the other half of me is irritated with how things just played out;
- So i canceled my subscription since the site wasn’t working, figuring it was dumb to continue paying for something that doesn’t work. When Sora went back to standard, the images were gone. I thought, “finally! something clicked, or the images timed out and automatically deleted”, so I just resubscribed today. THE BUGGED IMAGES ARE BACK!!! To be blunt, I’m extremely pissed right now.
I’ve already had multiple email discussions with ChatGPT in which they explain that they do not have access to users’ libraries nor any way of clearing them; it’s a privacy policy thing with them which i’m not 100% convinced on… but i’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
If any of the developers are actually reading this chat, here’s an idea:
- A “LIBRARY RESET” option. Something that is hard-coded to wipe everything from a user’s library; prompts, images, videos, activity history, everything. Basically a hard reset for the user’s library.
I was having he exact same issue. Today, out of frustration, I continued to move items into the trash and chose “Delete forever”. moments later they showed back up with the error “image could not be deleted”. I rinsed and repeated several times with the same result. I was fighting the system. Eventually, I stopped. went for coffee, and came back. Eureka, my deleted images were gone! I tested again, and my trash worked as expected also. I can only assume there was a “queue” or cache of some kind that I had to get thru by repeatedly deleting the same file. Things seems to be working again for me. hope this helps others.
Same problem. Items briefly disappear but then reapers again. Super annoying! Seems lika basic functionality.
I just got this answer from the AI Support. This doesn’t seem right.
Thanks for sharing those details! In Sora (on the web), images are stored in conversations. To delete an image from your library, you actually need to delete the entire conversation where the image was created. Clicking the trash can on the image itself won’t remove it from your library.
Here’s what you should do:
-
Hover over the conversation title in the sidebar.
-
Click the three dots (…).
-
Select Delete from the menu.
This will delete all images from that conversation in your library. Currently, there isn’t a way to delete individual images directly—removing the conversation is the supported method.
I have the same problem, hope OpenAI will fix it soon
I don’t understand why I should buy premium when an important main feature doesn’t work ![]()
Same problem here, I have a lot of trash pic and I can’t remove them , they reapper everytime after click Trash
Having the same problem, no matter what browser I’m using. Images jsut won’t move to the trash. Really annoying.
I am experiencing the same issue here as well.
This is not a bug. Freaks are selectively mocking “inconvenient“ users.
Same thing here. Happened a couple of months ago, then got fixed, now the issue is back. Images just remaining in My Media despite deleting them.
There is a hacky way to delete, but it’s a pain in the ass!
- Add the images to a folder that you have created.
- Navigate to the folder
- Delete the images by pressing the trashcan icon (top right of image).
- Refresh that page
- then click delete forever (3 dots top right).
This just takes ages if you have multiple images to delete.
It worked fine for me. Thx.
Same issue. The fact that it has been going on so long and is such a basic feature is absolutely insane. Needing to do a work around to move images to a new folder to try and erase them at a glacial speed is nuts. At this point, I don’t care if they hoard the image for more AI manipulation in the future, at least hide them from my library. What a disgrace.
