Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Codex a lot recently, and I kept feeling that the agent is powerful, but the working interface can still feel a bit plain.
So as a personal experiment, I started building a futuristic local workbench interface for Codex on Windows.
Not a chatbot.
Not just a theme.
More like a visual control console around Codex.
My goal is not to replace Codex. I just want the workbench to feel more alive while still showing useful things, like:
- current Codex / session status
- quota or usage display
- quick actions
- plugin / action areas
- task progress
- places for logs or approvals
I’m curious how other Codex users think about this:
If you were using a visual Codex workbench every day, what information or buttons would you want always visible?
Here are a few screenshots from the current prototype.
