I came up with this idea because the AI once made a mistake and said it was my fault (lol), but after I corrected it, the AI apologized. Then I asked whether our conversation could help improve the AI, and it said no due to privacy and other concerns (and of course, it also mentioned that your team had tried before, but it wasn’t accepted).
In today’s technological era, many users do not fully read Privacy Policies or Terms of Service agreements.
As a result, misunderstandings occur regarding users’ data rights and potential data misuse.
To prevent this, a system needs to be created that better educates users without disrupting their experience.
Proposed Feature:
-
Mandatory Reading Popup Delay During Registration :
• When a user creates an account for the first time, display a mandatory popup for 0-5 seconds.
• The popup should present a simple summary about:
• The user’s rights regarding their data.
• Information about possible data contribution for system improvement.
• An “Allow my data to be used for development” checkbox that must be manually checked.
• Use simple, user-friendly language rather than heavy legal jargon. -
No Repeat Once Approved :
• After users understand and approved, the popup will not appear again. -
Manual Settings Access :
• Provide a menu in Settings > Privacy where users can enable, disable, or change their data contribution decision.
Benefits:
• Increases user awareness and understanding.
• Protects non-expert users from potential data misuse.
• Strengthens user trust in the application/service.
• Sets a new ethical standard in global technology practices.
• Helps companies comply with international data protection regulations (such as GDPR, etc.).
By adopting this system, companies not only build greater public trust, but also contribute to creating a safer, more ethical, and more transparent technological world.
Again, this is just an idea and also AI helped me with the regulation, so I apologize if I’m wrong. I don’t know all the rules, but I just thought it would be amazing if people like you could use ideas from users like me, for example. (I say “me” instead of “us” because not everyone might agree, haha.)
