I agree. I am a paid plus user and extremely frustrated.
Since the last two weeks chatgpt has been limiting the chat times to around 25 minutes, chats end there and I have to manually ask it to continue. I certainly don’t expect unlimited compute time but this feels awful when something was working previously and suddenly its just changed with 0 notice to paying users. Around the same time Ive had constant bugs with the vertical column of little rectangles that are used to show the length of the chat, a lot of the time it simply just doesn’t show at all. And I used to be able to click and see the AI’s thoughts on the right hand panel that would open up, that was nice. since some time ago that is no longer a thing at all, I just can’t see any preview anywhere of what it’s thinking properly. I can click a thought and it expands some code but that’s it. So the quality has already been deteriorating over the previous 2 weeks with features just going missing completely without warning.
And then I refreshed last night and got hit with a update. All the UI changed suddenly with no ability to preserve the old which is very annoying and somehow, this is the least offending off the changes…
My chats would just give constant errors cutting off all last night, it was completely unusuable. That seems to be fixed today thankfully. And I can no longer click links it provides for zips, files etc, I click them and nothing happens, no download. tested on a different browser and everything. That is still persisting today.
When clicking a existing chat on the sidebar it frequently starts it halfway so I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see it’s latest reply.
And since the update yesterday the chat constantly inserts AI images that I didn’t ask for as well as all sorts of graphs and things. While some of the graph features are useful, I’d much prefer if this was a opt in option with a toggle in the settings, especailly for all the huge AI images its sending, I didn’t ask for it to be sending those.
And for some json files it would send, it would cutoff the last lines and not provide all of it, missing the end braces etc.
It used to let you select the model in the general chat which is nice and now it just shows mid low high which is less informative of what it’s doing.
Small thing but even when it sends the notification that a new chat has replied, it now doesn’t even show the start of the reply in the notification, it just shows “You have a response”. Again a small thing but I just can’t believe how so many even completely basic things are regressing over a single update.
What on earth is going on? Really frustrated all round. 3 Weeks ago it all worked marvelously and I just watched it all fall apart quite literally, overnight.
Yesss! I would much rather prefer having the control to decide which UI theme I can select, rather than stay stuck with one forever!

Allow us to decide the UI. Since o3 retirement and bringing in long-thread context-compaction, the whole interface is an unreliable mess.
I see many people requesting O3 back and non context-compaction but nothing is happening. It’s making my work 3 times harder as it’s a 24/7 babysitting job.
