I wanted a quick way to check my remaining Codex usage while working, so I built a small Windows tray utility called QuantaTray.
QuantaTray displays:
- Weekly remaining usage
- Next reset time and countdown
- Reset-credit information when available
- Recent locally observed reset history
- Codex plan and connection status
It has three display modes: mini, compact, and detailed.
The mini and compact views are designed to work like a lightweight desktop hardware monitor. They can stay at the edge of a monitor, remember their position in multi-display setups, snap to screen edges, remain always on top, and use adjustable opacity.
The mini view also supports click-through mode, so it can remain visible without blocking interaction with applications behind it.
QuantaTray connects locally to the official Codex App Server over stdio JSONL. It is read-only and does not consume reset credits or modify the OpenAI account.
It does not directly read browser cookies, saved passwords, access tokens, or Codex authentication files. There is no telemetry, advertising, analytics, or developer-operated backend.
