OpenAI has a BIG security problem. Few days ago I got a suspicious login email. I then reset my password. This morning someone logged in - after pwd reset- upgraded me to Pro, and made prompts?! Definitely wasn’t me because it was all in Chinese and when translated it seemed to be relating to betting strategies on European soccer. I don’t speak Chinese, and don’t care about soccer.
I suspected what happened so, I changed my password again. And I was correct - old browser sessions persist after pwd reset, and can be used to prompt + access subscriptions!! Resetting your password should automatically invalidate all sessions across all devices and log you out! Which I thought it did, but it doesn’t!
In some simple question, they reply within 2-3 hours but, account and safety related issues can sometimes take a bit of time to resolve, as the support team likely needs to investigate the activity on your account first. Once they’ve identified what’s going on, they should get back to you with a response.
Try the following:
Go to ChatGPT.com, the web interface not the mobile app and also not the desktop app. Then select your profile picture in the top right corner. Select settings. Select security → log out of all devices.
I hope this helps.
Otherwise, help.openai.com is your first address.
That’s what I did. It actually logged me out of the browser and one mobile device. But 12 hours later, I can still use prompt on another mobile device I was logged in on. This is a very serious security flaw.
