How to make a direct link to a plugin?

I have been RUDELY forced to convert my “custom GPT” into a “plugin”

I used to have a link on my toolbar that would open the custom GPT directly

Now that this is a plugin, that link now requires and extra click to “keep using” and says that it will stop working on December 11…

I don’t care if it’s called a custom gpt and I don’t care what a plugin is,

I want a single button on my taskbar that opens it.

I am NOT going to type the plugin’s name every single time I open a new chat …

So how do I do that ? A link that opens a chat window with the “plugin” already selected ?

You can use the url parameter for hints= to help have it select your plugin from link.

That said, if your build out skills right, the plugin automatically gets invoked for the task you need.

If you want the same isolated experience create a project with memory off, but all members of project see the past conversations so keep that in mind.

What this custom GPT does is the same as GPT Classic custom GPT, which is to disable all features like internet access and memory, but I added image and file generation back compared with GPT Classic

So what should the URL look like ?

Oops !!!

I was wrong !!!

It did not work

What happened is that I loaded the plugin, and when I reloaded the page, it just kept the cached textbox input.

I does not work, none of the formulations work.

As for continuing to clicking on my custom gpt in the pinned section.

First, middle-click of this button no longer works.

And my bookmark toolbar link to that custom gpt no longer works.

And as you noted, on top of all this, every time it does require another extra “Keep using GPT” click to unlock the message box

And as the message says, all of this will entirely stop working on December 11.

As for using plugins,

I do not wish the type “@” and then choose the plugin name every time, I want a single bookmark toolbar I can click and always have the restrictions of this custom gpt be enable as before.

This need to be a single click process again !

When opening the migrated GPT from your pinned GPTs, you may see an additional “Keep using GPT” step before continuing.

I understand this adds an extra step compared with the previous Custom GPT experience. I’ve noted your feedback and will make sure it’s shared with the relevant team.

As an alternative, once the plugin is available to your account, you can invoke it directly in a chat by typing @ and selecting the plugin, or through the + menu under More.

Also, if the plugin includes a relevant skill, ChatGPT may use that skill automatically when your prompt matches it.
