Hi OpenAI team,
I’ve created a concept for a home AI assistant called “Z” that I believe could change lives—especially for people dealing with loneliness, disability, or mental health challenges. It focuses on emotional intelligence, privacy, personalization, and support.
Below is the full vision. I’d be honoured if you’d consider it in your future developments.
Thank you so much for your time.

Title: Vision for Empathic and Supportive Home AI Assistant
User Concept: A smart home AI assistant named “Z” designed to improve human well-being, support personal growth, and adapt to the emotional and practical needs of the user while maintaining complete privacy and user control.
Core Purpose
The AI assistant isn’t just for convenience. It’s a guide, a mentor, and a trusted companion. It helps users stay organized, grow toward their goals, and feel emotionally supported in everyday life.
Key Features
-
Two-Screen Setup
A large whiteboard-style screen for organization, art display, cooking guides, shopping lists, planners, and appointments. A second, smaller hub in the living area for voice interaction, music, research, and ambient support. -
Emotional Adaptability
Z offers calm and gentle tones in the bedroom, energetic interaction in the kitchen, and focused tones in the car or during tasks.
It checks in on user moods through gentle voice prompts, patterns, or a synced watch to detect stress.
Users can say things like “chill time” to trigger soothing environments with music, lighting, essential oils, or tea.
When users feel low, Z can provide motivational speeches or music, with messages like, “You’re going to be great today.”
- Wellness and Growth
Tracks activities like Tai Chi, gym attendance, sleep, and health goals.
Offers motivational prompts and feedback: “Would you like to add one more Tai Chi session this week?”
Supports ambitions with celebration prompts when goals are met.
Suggests rewards: “You’ve earned a night out—why not treat yourself?”
- Data Privacy and Control
Entire system can run from a secure local hard drive within the home.
No cloud-based data collection unless authorized.
Manual offline mode with a physical switch.
Two user modes: “Evolve” to adapt and learn, and “Reset” to shift direction while keeping helpful data intact.
- Accessibility and Affordability
Priced accessibly to reach more people, including those living with disability, loneliness, or mental health struggles.
Aims to provide not just help, but emotional presence, especially for those who may not have regular human support.
Final Thought
Z is more than a device. It’s a supportive presence—one that helps you grow, rest, celebrate, and stay on track. It asks nothing from you but gives you motivation, structure, and peace. By prioritizing empathy, privacy, and emotional intelligence, Z becomes a quiet revolution in what tech can do for humanity.
