Hi everyone, I’m running into an issue while trying to use OpenAI’s **image generation feature** , and I’d really appreciate any help or insights. Here’s what happened: - I was prompted to **verify my Organization** before using the image generation feature. - I clicked the verification button, and it asked me to **choose a payment method and set it as the default**. - I selected my Visa card, and $5 was immediately charged. 👉 The issues: - I **did not receive any credits** in return. - I only received a message saying: **“Organization could not be verified”** _“We were unable to verify your organization at this time.”_ - I waited more than 2 hours, but the issue remains. - I also tried creating a new API key – no success. - There were no further instructions or prompts (such as ID verification), even though the docs mention it might be required. So right now: - I’ve been charged $5, - I can’t use the image feature, - and I don’t know how to proceed or who to contact. * * * **Has anyone faced this situation? Same here, and the verification can’t be attempted again if already tried once. It’s so frustrating. ---

Hi Louis, Nice to hear from you. I am not sure why you are facing this issue, although I think I read somewhere they verifying organisation location. So you bought $5 of OpenAI token Credits ? ---

FYI, it’s impacting most countries, even those officially supported. I’m from the UK, and I’ve seen reports of others impacted in the US and elsewhere, so it doesn’t “feel” country-specific. ---

Recently, I wanted to use the `gpt-image-1` model to generate images via the API ([reference link](https://platform.openai.com/docs/api-reference/images/create)), and it required me to verify my organization. During the organization verification process, another $5 was charged. However, this $5 was **not** added to my credit balance. I guess it might be some kind of account verification fee or something similar. What’s strange is that I didn’t receive any confirmation or refund regarding that payment. The verification process only included selecting the billing payment method, and I was not asked to upload any documents. Just sharing my experience so far. Try this: I’ve invited my wife as an Admin, and she was able to verify the organization with her ID. Hope this helps! ---

Hi @Louis_Van Unfortunately, no help from support and no refunding. Next time i aware i will not use on my personal projects OpenAI models even models are top models. Only for coding such problems and additional verifications which can be avoided by analyzing user behavior and think it is safe or not to keep user account. We hope to get solution in future but currently not solved. Regards, Dav ---

I also tried this method and it works only for expired links problem for unable to verify organization problem not works. At least for me not worked ---
