## Environment

- Surface: Android
- Browser or app version: ChatGPT 1.2026.265
- Device: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Android version: 16
- Beta tester: Yes (Google Play beta)
- Affected feature and model, if relevant: Appearance / Accent color

## Bug

After updating the ChatGPT Android app, the existing Green accent color changed noticeably.

The previous Green was a more traditional green, while the current one looks much more teal/turquoise. This happens in both Dark and Light mode.

I expected the existing Green accent color to remain the same. If this new shade is intentional, I think it would make more sense to add it separately as “Teal” rather than replacing the existing Green option.

## Reproduction

Steps:

1. Open ChatGPT Settings
2. Go to Personalization / Appearance
3. Select Green as the accent color
4. The Green accent now appears teal/turquoise instead of the previous green shade

## Diagnostics

Exact error or screenshot:

When it happened (with timezone) and how often: First noticed on September 23, 2026 after updating to version 1.2026.265. It occurs consistently.

**Update:** this is no longer limited to the Android beta.

I checked another Android device that is not enrolled in the beta, and Green has now changed to the same teal/cyan shade there too. That device is running ChatGPT for Android 1.2026.265 (26).

The web version still shows the original Green, so this now appears to be rolling out to stable Android as well.

I am experiencing the same change in the ChatGPT Android app. The previous green accent has been replaced by a much colder turquoise/cyan shade, while the web version on the same device still shows the previous green.

In my case, this change also created a significant sensory accessibility issue. It made me realize that users with sensory sensitivities need more control over interface colors, rather than being limited to a small set of predefined options.

I have opened a separate related topic about customizable accent colors as an accessibility feature for neurodivergent users:

> [@Sensory accessibility for neurodivergent users: please allow custom accent colors](https://community.openai.com/t/sensory-accessibility-for-neurodivergent-users-please-allow-custom-accent-colors/1401929):

> I am writing this because I would like OpenAI to consider sensory accessibility for neurodivergent users as a real part of accessibility. Recently, the “Green” accent color in the ChatGPT Android app was changed to a much colder turquoise/cyan shade. This may seem like a minor cosmetic change, but for me it made using the app significantly more difficult and uncomfortable. I am autistic and have pronounced sensory sensitivity, including sensitivity to color. The previous green was comfortable …

**Update:** the accent color menu has now been expanded with separate Cyan, Lime, and Magenta options.

However, Green still uses the newer teal shade instead of the original Green.

Now that Cyan exists as its own option, I really hope the original Green can be restored.

I am seeing the same issue.

Initially, the colour only changed for dark mode. But now light mode is the same. It’s not even green anymore.
